In the summer of 2026, I attended a busy fair in Chesterfield with my husband, David. I couldn’t stop talking about the atmosphere, the organisation… I was fascinated by how everything came together to create such a memorable experience.

David looked at me with a real lightbulb-moment expression on his face and said:

“You could do this…”

I laughed, rolled my eyes and carried on pottering around the venue. But then came the drive home…

“I COULD do this…” I thought to myself.

After all, I had experience in event planning and marketing… and I have two journalism degrees, which were bound to come in handy somewhere!

When we got home, I hit the ground running and started building Hall Cottage Company Events. And I haven’t looked back!

2026 has seen six Hall Cottage Company Events, and they’re going from strength to strength. I love meeting the creative and entrepreneurial minds behind the businesses that attend, and seeing visitors leave our events with smiles on their faces.

Hall Cottage Company Events is a reflection of my personal and professional growth, and I genuinely feel that I’m right where I’m supposed to be. So, whether you attend one of my events as a visitor or a stallholder, I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I do.

Finally, I did tell a bit of a fib… it’s not always ‘just me’!

My husband, David, is often around to keep me sane and lend a hand to both me and the stallholders. He’s a good egg.
